Troubleshoot 123 HP Officejet Pro 8710

Paper Jams and Paper feed problem:

  • Remove the Input tray by pulling it away from the Printer
  • Check for jammed papers in the input tray area and clear it away
  • Replace the input tray back into the Printer

To clear away paper jam from print zone:

  • Switch Off your Printer using the Power button
  • Open the cartridge access door from front of the Printer
  • Ensure you move the Print Carriage to the far right and remove the jammed paper
  • If need, move the Print Carriage to the far left and remove the jammed paper
  • Close the cartridge access door
  • To turn on the Printer press the Power button ON

To clear away paper jam from the rear of the Printer:

  • From the rear access door press the two tab to open the door
  • Remove any torn or jammed papers
  • Press both of the tabs on the Paper path cover to remove the cover
  • Remove any torn or jammed papers
  • Insert the Paper path cover
  • Close the rear access door

To clear away paper jam from the document feeder:

  • Lift to open the cover from the Document Feeder
  • Lift the document feeder tab access from its lateral side
  • Clear away the jammed paper out of the rollers
  • Push the document feeder tab to its original position
  • Close in the cover to the Document Feeder until it is fixed firmly

How to prevent Paper Jams

  • Load the input Tray with a suitable number of sheets, avoid keeping large number of sheets at once
  • Promptly take away the printed papers in order to neglect paper jamming
  • While loading papers to the input Tray make sure that the papers are not cracked or bent condition
  • Ensure the loaded papers lay flat in the input tray and the edges not bent
  • Always use same type of paper and do not use different paper types while loading the input Tray. i.e., heavily thick or too thin papers
  • Ensure all of the feed papers in the input Tray are of standard size
  • Using the paper-width guides in the input tray to feed the papers, eliminates the jams and misalignment during printing
  • Use the paper length guides for keeping the paper intact in the input tray
  • Always switch off the Printer before loading paper to input tray. Also avoid loading paper during printing process

Troubleshoot Printing Problem

To troubleshoot print issues in Windows OS:

Note: Ensure that you have loaded papers in the input tray and the Printer is turned ON

  • Check the Printer Control Panel for error message displayed, and follow the onscreen instructions to resolve the issue
  • If your Printer is wireless connected to Computer then check for the connectivity to resolve any issues
  • If your Printer is USB Cable connected to Computer then unplug the USB cable and reestablish the connection to resolve any issues
  • Ensure that the Printer is not offline or paused
  • Open the Control Panel window and select the Printer Icon
  • Right click the Printer Icon to set it as default printer
  • Restart your Computer
  • If problems persist then clear the print queue
  • Open the Control Panel window and double click Devices and Printers Icon
  • Double click your Printer Name to open the print queue
  • Use Printer menu and click Cancel all documents or Purge Print Document, and then Click Yes button

Troubleshoot Copy Problem

 Troubleshoot Fax Problem

Primarily you can test your Fax set up, you can check on the status of your printer and faxing setup connection.

  • Test the fax device
  • Verify the correct RJ 11 phone cord is connected to the Printer
  • Check for a dial tone presence
  • Check for a dormant status to send Fax over the phone
